Immunogen	Immunogen: BALB/C mice were immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 37 to 51 of PML protein.
Application	Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin embedded sections: diluted of 1:10 to 1:50 in an ABC method (30 min at room temperature) Recommended Positive control: Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Background	PML is frequently overexpressed in Hodgkin's and Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin's disease. It is also overexpressed in carcinomas of larynx and thyroid (papillary), epithelial thymomas and Kaposi's sarcoma. Acute promyelocytic leukemia, which is characterized by fusion of promyelocytic leukemia (PML) and Retinoic Acid Receptor alpha genes by a reciprocal 15:17 chromosomal translocation. The fusion protein thus produced blocks the terminal differentiation of hematopoietic cells and apoptosis.
