Background	Neisseria meningitidis is a heterotrophic gram-negative diplococcal bacterium best known for its role in meningitis and other forms of meningococcal disease such as meningococcemia. Strains of Neisseria meningitidis are characterised by the polysaccharide expressed on its capsule. Serogroups A, B and C cause 90% of meningococcal meningitis cases.

Storage	Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. This product is photosensitive and should be protected from light. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Format	Label: Covalently coupled with high purity Isomer I of fluorescein isothiocyanate. Care is taken to ensure complete removal of any free fluorescein from the final product FITC Buffer System: 0.01 M PBS, pH 7.2 containing 10 mg/ml BSA as stabilzer and 0.09 % Sodium azide as preservative. State: Liquid purified Ig fraction.
Specificity	Specificity: All antigens. Has not been absorbed and may react with related microorganisms. Reactive with serogroups A, B and C. Other serogroups not tested.
