Background Phosphoglycolate phosphatase, also known as PGP, is detected in all tissues including red cells, lymphocytes and cultured fibroblasts (at protein level). The catalytic activity of PGP is 2-phosphoglycolate + H2O = glycolate + phosphate. The highest activities occur in skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle.
Concentration 0.5 mg/ml (determined by Bradford assay)
General Readings Barker R.F., et al. (1978) Ann. Hum. Genet. 42:143-151
Storage Store undiluted at 2-8°C for one week or (in aliquots) at -20°C to -80°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
