Functional assays.
Background CD49d is a 150kD molecule, which may be cleaved to 80kD and 70kD fragments and is expressed by lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and thymocytes. VLA-4 mediates cell adhesion to VCAM-1 and fibronectin.
