Background of PIAS3 antibody
PIAS3 is a member of the protein inhibitor of activated STAT (PIAS) family. It also activates TGF-beta/SMAD transcriptiol responses. This gene encodes a member of the PIAS [protein inhibitor of activated STAT (sigl transducer and activator of transcription)] family of transcriptiol modulators. The protein functions as a SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier)-E3 ligase which catalyzes the covalent attachment of a SUMO protein to specific target substrates. It directly binds to several transcription factors and either blocks or enhances their activity. Altertively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been identified, but the full-length ture of some of these variants has not been determined. Immunohistochemical analysis of PIAS3 staining in human lung cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
