Background of PMA1 antibody
Pma1p is an abundant multi-domain protein of yeast which is localized in the plasma membrane. It functions as a major regulator of cytoplasmic pH, by pumping protons out of the cell. It is part of the P2 subgroup of cation-transporting ATPases. Pma1p is the major Plasma Membrane H+-ATPase found in yeast. It plays a significant role in regulating intracellular ion homeostasis and is a useful Marker of the plasma membrane.
