Background of TP53I11 antibody

TP53I11 is a 177 amino acid tumor suppressor belonging to the p53-induced protein gene (PIG) family. The PIG gene family encodes redox-controlling proteins that are involved in p53 tumor suppressor activity. It is suggested that PIG11 is involved in arsenic trioxide As(2)O(3)-induced apoptosis in certain cell lines and may play a significant role in tumor suppression through promotion of cell apoptosis. The gene encoding PIG11 maps to human chromosome 11, which houses over 1,400 genes and comprises nearly 4% of the human genome.

Immunofluorescent analysis of PIG11 staining in HuvEc cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a DyLight 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue).
